Hello, I’m Storky the Delivery Stork

Hello everyone! Umm… I don't know where to start. I'm a little bit nervous actually. But that’s okay. First, I’ll start with a question, “Where do SleepingBabyFTM come from?” That’s my job. Every week I pick up SleepingBabyFTM from a secret factory and fly all over the Fantom chain to deliver them to new families.
Once upon a time in medieval Europe, paintings of babies looked more like adults. Really, they looked nothing like babies. These adult babies were very intentional. Most of those medieval babies were depictions of Jesus. To compare it with the depiction of babies in renaissance paintings, the two eras truly represented different values. In renaissance paintings, they were less interested in religious matters. Therefore, they made a more realistic depiction of babies. It started to look cute and adorable.

Then, what does that have to do with SleepingBabyFTM?

Let's jump to the 50s, when the pop art movement emerged. Every era has its own ‘zeitgest’. Whereas the medieval era held religious values and the renaissance era focused on how science influences the creation of art, the emergence of the pop art turned mass culture into subjects of art. They may borrow concepts from various sources in our daily lives, which are already occupied by mass products.Their movement actually aim to destroy the boundaries between ‘high’ art and ‘low’ culture so that there is no hierarchy between the two.
Back to the history of baby depictions that I described above. Perhaps, how art attempted to depict “baby” figures can represent the zeitgeist of an era. The depiction of babies in pop art paintings tends to be more abstract than before. It may consist only of outlines depicting the figure and gestures of an infant. Although it doesn't have to be that way. But at least, the visual expression of a work of art has greatly expanded its possibilities.
Now, all the doors of possibility have been opened. I think this is the right time to tell you about….

How do ‘we’ operate?

One day, an employee from the secret factory whispered to me, “This is an art project.” He continued, "Actually they want to produce something that symbolizes the future."

A private bunker if doomsday comes? Flying cars? Or an unlimited cloud storage?
“No, it’s a baby! Sleeping baby!”
“Why?”
“There must be new generations that would eventually have a whole new view about our world today. Meanwhile, that generation is only just learning to move about in the world.”
“Hmmm…. Okay. Then what?”

“When babies sleep, they can see themselves becoming anyone in their dreams. Everything seems possible”.
I need a job. Then, I said I’m in .
“What can I do?” I asked him.
“You are a stork! You can deliver the babies”
That’s how I started my job. Delivering 1/1 non-generative SleepingBabyFTM that will only be produced for 51 pieces. Each consists of a particular theme, like a baby who has many dreams.. A short description will accompany each picture. Every week, 5 pieces of SleepingBabyFTM will be minted. Fresh from a secret factory. Carried by me, to our new family.
I hope these babies will have good luck.
Oh, I forgot this line!
Please take good care of them…
